Hi! I’m Charmaine, the marketing connoisseur and copywriter behind Strategic Charm Boutique!

Through this boutique marketing and public relations agency, I aim to help fierce female entrepreneurs take control of their online presence so they can slay the business game. Marketing can seem confusing and time consuming, so I’m here to relieve you of some of that stress so you can focus on operating the other important areas of your booming creative business.

If you struggle with...

  • Figuring out what the heck to post on social media everyday

  • Growing your online tribe of adoring fans

  • Pushing out weekly blog posts that are actually useful to your readers

  • Finding time to write out your email campaigns

…you’ve come to the right boutique.

Because I’m passionate about female entrepreneurship, my ultimate goal is to lift other women up so they can succeed in their business. There are likely plenty of other bosses out there who do what you, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for your brand to stand out and (in the words of Rihanna) “shine bright like a diamond.” Your products and services might be similar to the ones offered by the girl next door, but there’s no one out there who has your flare, your determination, or your passion. It’s my job to help you shine the light beaming from your unique qualities towards the digital space. Trust me, there are people out there waiting to be blinded by it!

Ever since I was a kid I knew I wanted to build my own business from the ground up. The type of business I wanted to run changed numerous times from a babysitting business, to a bakery, to a photography studio. But running my own boutique marketing and PR agency is something I’ve dreamed of for a long time. Throughout my time in university and college, I became obsessed with social media marketing and the power it has to allow brands to grow an online community with people all over the world, so it made sense to turn that obsession into a super awesome business venture. Now one year old, I can say that launching Strategic Charm Boutique was one of the best decisions of my life, and I can’t wait to see what year two has in store.

Fun facts

I used to be an event planner!

I hosted my first major event in 2013 while I was still in college. It was a Red Dress Gala & Fashion Show hosted to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. After graduation I worked as an event planning and wedding design coordinator. Weddings are neat, but I don’t think I’ll plan another one ever again…unless it’s my own. Next I became a corporate event planner and communications coordinator for a college up north.

I lived in small town Lac La Biche, Alberta for two years.

Speaking of the college up north, that job opportunity was the reason I tackled on small-town life. I only planned on living there for two years, and that’s exactly how everything worked out. Back to Winnipeg I went. This girl belongs in the city!

I used to work with George Lopez.

Well, not really. I was an extra in a Christmas movie he filmed here in Winnipeg. I was also an extra in a movie starring Thomas Gibson from Dharma and Greg. I was rocking poufy pink and blonde hair at the time, so I was afraid they weren’t going to use me.

I won a journalism award in college.

I wrote a magazine article that was loosely about female circumcision and one of my journalism teachers submitted it to a contest without my knowing. That $500 award was a pretty nice surprise. I likely spent it on clothes.
